1ST DIGITAL FILM FESTIVAL FEATURED BILL DUKES' "COVER"

THE 1ST “DIGITAL” FILM FESTIVAL FEATURED BILL DUKES’ “COVER”

June 20th, 2009-Riverside, Ca. Lyfestyles Tv, a division of Urban Lyfestyles produced the 1st Digital Film Festival straight from a computer laptop through Terrance Coles of the Pan Africanist. Featured was Mr. Bill Dukes’ film “COVER” , Regina Kimbell “My Nappy Roots”, Spanky Jackson's Cadillac Dreamz and The Africa Channel.

Not only was history made through digital technology, but also was the 1st IE Urban Film Festival all taking place at the Ontario Mills AMC Theatre.

“Instead of watching the movie screen from a film projector, viewers watched in awe images sent directly from a laptop, states KimiRhochelle, producer of the Urban Film Festival.

Lyfestyles TV used this event to launch its Urban Global Digital Distribution Portal through the PanAfricanist African Diaspora VOD platform presented by Actor Mr. Richard Gant and Mr. Terrence Coles. “Now, producers and film festivals can trans-market their projects throughout the world at film festivals AND allow viewers to download their films digitally without even being present.. this is the first for the industry and we are very excited to be launching here!” states Actor Mr. Gant, owner of the PanAfricanist.

“Mr. Gant and myself have been working on this digital distribution, along with Mr. Terrence Cole for over a year and to now be able to have had it launch at our own film festival is such an honor, states KimiRhochelle.

The Urban Film Festival was part of the 1st Annual Juneteenth Celebrity Tri-Festival Weekend that included a celebrity golf tournament in Upland, a Sickle Cell Casino Night and of course the 1st IE Urban Film Festival at the Ontario Mills AMC Theatre. The goal is to raise awareness about Juneteenth and Sickle Cell as well as to raise funds for the Inland Sickle Cell office located in Riverside.

Stricken by the unforeseen death of the Sickle Cell office manager and co-producer of the Tri-Fest, Mr. Art Booker, the landmark annual event had to quickly maneuver and change locations of the casino night. “The sudden death of my dear friend took me off the scene for at least 2 days before the Tri-Fest, but thanks to so many individuals that rose to the occasion and my faith in God, the events were successful”, states KimiRhochelle. “In fact, many people were somewhat confused as to the new location and wanted to know where to send their donations so we have continued the fundraising campaign until the end of August and people can give a donation by going to www.urbanlyfestyles.com!”

The Urban Film Festival started with the viewing of featured films, followed by discussions and then a private dinner with Mr. Duke and other celebrity friends that came through..thanks to all..kimirhochelle 

The Sickle Cell of the Inland Counties, under the Director of Mr. Tim Adams, schedules a series of events that will not only create awareness of the disease Sickle Cell but also raises funds for the 506 nonprofit. The first event: The 1st Annual Juneteenth Celebrity Tri-Festival Weekend produced by the Southern California Black Chamber of Commerce, Urban Lyfestyles Magazine and KimiRhochelle PR Event & Entertainment Firm.

Sickle Cell is the “Silent” African American disease that goes unnoticed. Sickle cell disease is the most common inherited blood disorder in the United States, affecting 70,000 to 80,000 Americans. The disease is estimated to occur in 1 in 500 African Americans and 1 in 1,000 to 1,400 Hispanic Americans.

It affects millions of people worldwide. Sickle cell anemia is most common among people whose ancestors come from Africa; Mediterranean countries such as Greece, Turkey, and Italy; the Arabian Peninsula; India; and Spanish-speaking regions in South America, Central America, and parts of the Caribbean.

Sickle cell disease is a group of disorders that affects hemoglobin, the molecule in red blood cells that delivers oxygen to cells throughout the body. People with this disorder have atypical hemoglobin molecules called hemoglobin S, which can change the shape of normal red blood cells into a sickle, or crescent, shape.
Signs and symptoms of sickle cell disease usually begin in early childhood.

Characteristics of this disorder include a low number of red blood cells (anemia), repeated infections, and recurring episodes of pain. The severity of symptoms varies from person to person. Some people have mild symptoms, while others are frequently hospitalized for more serious complications.

The signs and symptoms of sickle cell disease are caused by the sickling of red blood cells. When red blood cells sickle, they break down prematurely, which can lead to anemia. Anemia can cause shortness of breath, fatigue, and delayed growth and development in children. The rapid breakdown of red blood cells may also cause yellowing of the eyes and skin, which are signs of jaundice.

Painful episodes can occur when sickled red blood cells, which are stiff and inflexible, get stuck in small blood vessels. These episodes deprive tissues and organs of oxygen-rich blood and can lead to organ damage, especially in the lungs, kidneys, spleen, and brain. A particularly serious complication of sickle cell disease is high blood pressure in the blood vessels that supply the lungs (pulmonary hypertension).

Urban Lyfestyles is proud to produce the 1st ANNUAL JUNETEENTH TRI-FESTIVAL WEEKEND. The 1st Annual Juneteenth Tri-Festival Weekend consists of a consortium of events produced by several producers that combined, creates a weekend of urban entertainment enriched with cultural, fun and community awareness unlike any other in the Inland Empire.

Urban Lyfestyles, coupled with KimiRhochelle PR Event & Entertainment Firm (KRPR) produces, manages, assist other producers, etc. with marketing, advertisement, event/project financial support from sponsors, event/project management and/or execution on every level. This event is the first of its kind in that it combines several events produced and managed independently while on a topical level, the project is managed, marketed and even created additional revenue flows from sponsors, vendors and ticket sales.

“The concept has been in the making ever since we had created our Collaborate and Affiliate programs touring throughout Southern California from one event to another with such great projects such as the Pan African Film Festival, the African Marketplace and the Los Angeles Black Business Expo..to name a few!” states KimiRhochelle, President & Ceo of Urban Lyfestyles, inc.

“With those programs, we take ownership of various services provided from our firm to the production in exchange of inventory that could range from vendor space areas to placement of logos for branding… However, what is new is that we have combined entities for the first time that are still produced and financed by the original producers and instead of our company marketing and promoting the events separately, which is more time consuming and costly, we’ve created one stream of info to potential sponsors and our wonderful social network community, “ KimiRhochelle continues.

“To add to this, we’ve added the component of Financial Gifting where a corporation can now place advertising dollars through our media firm to create wider reach and greater market share for branding throughout the entire year given higher value per dollar spent! We are aware that the concept is new yet we know it is highly effective and efficient and we will see many producers begin to do the same.”

ULM LAUNCHES NATIONAL ONLINE MAG

URBAN LYFESTYLES MAGAZINE LAUNCHES NATIONAL ONLINE ONLY DIGITIAL MAGAZINE

From IE, to LA…NOW NATIONALLY TO GLOBAL!

Sept. 4, 2008
Ontario, California

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

~~~Urban Lyfestyles Magazine IS EXPANDING AGAIN!
The continued growth of Urban Lyfestyles Magazine (ULM) has surpassed all goals thus far! From the Riverside and San Bernardino Counties to Los Angeles Counties and now to the internet for a global expansion!
Februeary 2009, at the Pan African Film Festival in Los Angeles, Ca., Urban Lyfestyles Online Only Digital Magazine (ULDM) will launch. While most online publications have the typical turn the page functions as well as the ability to download, ULDM will prove to once again to be out of the box in design, functionality and deliverability.
While the past and future printed magazines (IE/LA) will also be uploaded and have the ability to be seen worldwide, the ULDM will appeal to the national audience, advertisers through creative entertainment components that other digital magazines will soon follow!
ULM has embraced the internet and has created hundreds of profiles on online social networks that target almost every heading of the magazine. This strategically markets each heading of the magazine, the featured artist and the advertisers which create additional exposure for the magazine and all associates of the magazine. For instance, Urban Lyfestyles Magazine has a profile on Start.up.biz, a business social network on Ning.com to distribute information, post messages, invite friends and more! “We have created a group “Urban Entrepreneur” group within this network that allows for other likeminded entrepreneurs to join…this is one of the locations where ULM finds some of its’ national features!” states KimiRhochelle publisher of ULM.
Another network on Ning.com is BlackBusinessSpace.com where thousands of professional business people, artists, entertainers, etc., exchange information. There are thousands of sites with niche industry targets for religion, rap, education, teens, ect. ULM is finding them and setting up profiles which in the big picture, expands potential visability to whatever ULM posts. To date, the potential internet viewership is hitting 3 million which is beyond the projected growth goal for 2008!
In addition, ULM’s 411 N4BLAST has expanded from 10,000 to 80,000 and is growing to 100,000..another amazing growth beyond projections.
ULDM will provide advertisers with more value added components revealed at the launching. In addition, advertisers can only purchase ads for the entire year, or for 1 or 2 months. For more information about ULDM, or to advertise, please call KimiRhochelle @ 909-543-2978 or email kimi@urbanlyfestyles.com ~
ULM OFFICIAL AMP MAG
PRESS RELEASE
URBAN LYFESTYLES MAGAZINE IS THE OFFICIAL MAGAZINE DISTRIBUTED AT THE
AFRICAN MARKET PLACE
Urban Lyfestyles Magazine Postured to Birth New Publication in Los Angeles, Ca.!
July 11, 2008
Ontario, California
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
~~~Urban Lyfestyles Magazine IS EXPANDING AGAIN!
The Los Angeles ethnic communities will soon have its own version of what the Inland Empire has been receiving since September 2007 with the launching of the Urban Lyfestyles Magazine Los Angeles Edition debuting at one of the biggest festivals in Los Angeles, Ca., The African MarketPlace.

Urban Lyfestyles Magazine IE (ULM IE) will continue its monthly distribution of 10,000 but is possibly expanding to 40,000 due to demand and not enough supply. The learning curb since its’ conception has been to determine the right paper stock, who to distribute to, the pricing, should it be monthly, every two months or even quarterly to name a few. However, the results are in.

ULM IE will continue to be a monthly publication in order to keep the synergy going. “In order to know what and why we are doing something, we have to try it!” states Kimi Rhochelle, Publisher. “We combined the March/April and then the May/June/July to see the results and lost the excitement and energy that flowed from producing a monthly magazine. Therefore we will continue to have a monthly IE publication as well as a Los Angeles or LA publication. In addition, all of our current advertisers have a choice to receive additional advertisement for one year complimentary or they can have an additional ad published in the LA magazine until Jan. 2009 complimentary!”

ULM LA’s first edition will surround the events of the Africa MarketPlace taking place August 16, 17, 22, 23, 24, 30, 31, and September 1, 2008. The features will highlight individuals and organizations from the same headings: health, politics, entrepreneurs, teens & more. “I believe the vast cultural experience will only add more substance to an already great publication,” states Kimi Rhochelle.

“We are excited about the magazine being part of the African MarketPlace,” states James Burke, Founder. “The quality of the magazine is great and the collaboration is a win win situation for both parties!”

The African MarketPlace has stood at the forefront of the cultural tourism movement in Los Angeles for many years. Local, National and International tourists, foreign dignitaries, celebrities and politicians embrace and participate in this socio-economic enterprise.
